Monument Beach Sportsman's Club

(Important Announcements for Members)

A Sportsman's Club Founded By Sportsmen

The Monument Beach Sportsman’s Club (MBSC) was organized and chartered in the late 1960’s. We own 62 acres of land which borders on Town, State and private properties in beautiful Bourne, Massachusetts.  We offer four main facilities and various outdoor shooting ranges for archery, rifle, pistol,  black powder & trap. Our grounds have become a regular and popular visit for members and their guests who enjoy the club’s extensive facilities and recreational opportunities.  If you just want to go for a walk or exercise your favorite pet, you will thoroughly enjoy our 3D archery course and walking trail which winds its way through a pristine woodland setting.

Youth take an instant shine to the Club and are welcome.   We work with youth of all ages to teach them the skills of archery, gun safety, hunter safety, and the challenge of competitive competition. We strongly believe that the future rests with our youth and we work hard to embody that belief in many of the club sponsored activities. Youth  NRA certified .22 rifle courses are given Wednesday evenings in the IDR and we are a host club site for Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD).

The MBSC is here today, larger and better than ever. We thrive because our ever growing membership actively and aggressively supports on-going facilities improvement initiatives. Our strong club ‘volunteer’ base continues to exercise their vision to make MBSC one of the best sportsman’s club’s in the north east. Camaraderie is born here, friends are made for life and good times are enjoyed by all!

A club newsletter, the MBSC GAZETTE,  is mailed to the membership bi-monthly. It contains current events, items for sale, schedule of events, and sometimes just a hunting story or two, along with an occasional game recipe.

What's For Dinner?

The kitchen committee has prepared the annual meal plan so members are aware of the monthly offerings coming out of the galley. A special thanks to Allen Newell for providing the ELK for the April GA meeting. Excellent! But if you want to have some of those Elk Bites for an appetizer – DO NOT PUT THEM IN FRONT OF BILLY ‘FAST FINGERS’ THE BARTENDER  - OR YOU’LL STARVE! He’s a ‘mad-man’ with a toothpick!

THE CLUB REQUESTS THAT MEMBERS DO NOT PARK ON THE GRASS  ON TRAP & CAS FIELDS. RECENTLY FERTILIZED. THANKS.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Help with our facilities improvement initiatives is needed across the club; from the kitchen to general maintenance, major and minor construction to chasing those pesky squirrels out of Charlie’s tool shed!  Scheduled work parties are posted in the main club house and announced at regularly scheduled board and general meetings.  No help is turned away!

Please feel free to contact Fred Leavitt, Chairperson Bldg & Grounds @ (508) 563-3062 or (508) 671-5234 for further information and on how you can make a difference at MBSC.

Support Our Troops!

The Club voted to help the troops in Iraq on an ongoing basis in the form of collecting donation for care packages.  Visit www.capecod4thetroops.com to view the list of supplies needed by our soldiers.  (the list is located at the bottom of the main page). Collections/donations will be accepted at the MBSC general meetings. Doug Dexter will collect and deliver the items. Cash donations are greatly appreciated and help cover costs of shipping.   Thanks Doug!

Cowboy Action Shooting

Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS) is one of the club’s newest outdoor sports. We hold our shoots adjacent to the trap field on weekends - weather permitting. If you enjoy wearing ‘period attire’ and putting on a six gun harking back to the  days of yesteryear, come on over and have some great fun with the MBSC Cowboys!

Click here for more information on CAS and check the
calendar for updated events.
